Energy Surveys
Energy surveys that support compliance, planning and retrofit readiness
FFT’s energy surveys provide housing providers with a clear understanding of current energy performance across their stock.
Delivered alongside stock condition surveys and undertaken by qualified Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs), our approach ensures EPC data is accurate, consistent and reliable.
We help landlords assess compliance with MEES and DHS2 requirements, understand risks within their portfolio and plan a structured route towards EPC C avoiding fragmented assessments and unnecessary rework.
From compliance to proactive planning
Energy surveys are most effective when they form part of a wider evidence base. FFT integrates energy data into stock condition surveys so findings can be trusted, shared and reused.
Our assessments go beyond minimum compliance, helping clients identify where improvement is needed, what level of intervention is proportionate and how future retrofit projects may be prioritised. Where schemes progress to retrofit, this data provides a strong foundation for PAS 2035 assessments without duplication.

FAQs
EPCs are typically delivered as part of FFT’s stock condition surveys, ensuring energy data aligns with wider building information. This approach reduces inconsistency, avoids repeat visits and provides a more reliable evidence base. Standalone EPCs are only recommended in limited circumstances.
Our surveys help identify current EPC ratings, highlight properties at risk of non‑compliance and provide clear, proportionate insight into where improvements may be required — supporting a planned route towards EPC C.
Energy surveys provide the baseline data that can inform future retrofit projects. While not a replacement for PAS 2035 assessments, they help scope, prioritise and prepare retrofit activity without duplicating earlier work.
